EstaGrip™ Thermoplastic Elastomers (TPEs) are engineered thermoplastic systems uniting soft elastomer overmolds and rigid substrates to deliver enduring solutions. Products are based on thermoplastic polyurethanes (TPU), alloys and reinforced engineering thermoplastics and other TPE technologies. These extremely versatile and equally durable thermoplastic materials offer the performance of a soft elastomer overmolded over a rigid polymer substrate.

Characteristics:

  • TPE products as soft as 60 Shore A for use as soft overmolded layers
  • Reinforced and unreinforced engineering thermoplastics with a broad flex modulus as high as 650,000 psi designed to perform as a rigid substrate
  • Technology is available to provide products ranging from 60 Shore A to 80 Shore D with flex modulus ranging from 2,300 to over 2MM psi

Features:

  • Excellent adhesion between the soft overmolded elastomer to substrates such as ABS, PVC, PC, PPO/PS, PET, PBT, and of course, TPU, without use of mechanical interlocks or other adhesion promoters. EstaGrip™ TPEs will adhere to nylon with proper tooling design.
